Military settlement of Nagorno Karabakh issue will be very painful for Azerbaijan: MP

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 22, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: Chair of Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia Artak Zakaryan expressed such an opinion during the meeting with journalists.

“Azerbaijan is strictly concerned about the decline of its role in geopolitical sense, about the complexity of fulfillment of economic and social obligations, their unconstructive and provocative actions in the Nagorno Kasrabakh conflict settlement issue,” the MP said.

According to Artak Zakaryan, the hopeless aspirations of Azerbaijan on changing the negotiation process by means of military force are not justified.

“The Azerbaijani can hardly think of such actions or create a situation in 2016-2017 which can be favorable for them related to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, on the contrary at such rate Azerbaijan will farther lose all opportunities to achieve something in the peaceful negotiation process, and the issue simply does not have a military settlement, military settlement will be very painful for Azerbaijan,” Artak Zakaryan said.

He emphasized that the speech of Armenia President at the CSTO summit showed that “Armenia with its small resources, but effective policy can realize more and has a more precise position in terms of proposing political programs than Azerbaijan.”

When commenting on the USA’s recent revival on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement issue, Zakaryan said that the Co-Chairs made proposals related to the conflict settlement at different times. “The interests of the MG Co-Chairs over the Nagorno Karabakh issue do not intersect, but coincide,” the MP concluded.
