Criminal case launched into Armenian soldier’s killing by Azerbaijan
STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 11, ARTSAKHPRESS: As NEWS.am reports, the Investigative Committee of Armenia informed that Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army serviceman Aramayis Voskanyan (born in 1996) had sustained a gunshot wound to his head and died on the spot on January 9 at around 9:30pm, at a military foothold of an NKR Defense Army unit, and as a result of the shots fired by Azerbaijan.
The First Garrison Investigative Department has initiated a criminal case on charges of murder based on national, racial or religious hatred, or religious fanaticism.
An investigation is underway.
Voskanyan was from Gavar town in Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. His funeral will be held Monday.
