Sharmazanov: Armenia President’s discontent with some CSTO countries yielded results

STEPANAKERT, MARCH 9, ARTSAKHPRESS: Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, noted the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday, NEWS.am informed.

In his words, we can speak of positive dynamics in terms of the situation along the Line of Contact of the Karabakh conflict.

“Of course this is not enough, and it is clear that there are problems,” Sharmazanov added. “There are countries within the CSTO, and which, during the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly sessions, support positions that don’t proceed from the official position of the organization. It’s unacceptable for us [i.e. Armenia] when our allies adopt a passive stance

“But the expediency of Armenia’s membership in CSTO is in the best interests of our state, and it is justified. We consider ourselves a full CSTO member. We always have had a shared position with both Russia and Belarus.”
