President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Pedro Agramunt called for de-escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh.
PACE President urges to respect ceasefire in Karabakh
STEPANAKERT, APRIL 18, ARTSAKHPRESS: Opening the spring session of PACE, Agramunts deplored violence on the line of contact and urged the parties to respect the ceasefire, NEWS.am reports.
The head of PACE mentioned that although the Council of Europe has no direct mandate to be involved in the Karabakh conflict, he believes the parliamentary diplomacy may help.
He urged to build bridges to install confidence and trust for meaningful discussion for the settlement of the conflict.
PACE President reiterated his support “for territorial integrity” and called for “international law to be implemented”.
