Even though Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan had not yet submitted a petition—as of Tuesday—to become a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), he will write such a petition in the coming days.
Sharmazanov: It is very important that Armenia defense minister decided to join RPA
STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 16, ARTSAKHPRESS: National Assembly (NA) Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also the RPA spokesperson, on Wednesday told the abovementioned to reporters in Parliament, NEWS.am reports.
“It’s very important to us that one of the key figures of our country has decided to become a member of the Republican Party of Armenia,” noted Sharmazanov.
In his words, after the constitutional reform, the role of party-member figures will increase in Armenia’s politics.
“In this regard, it’s very important that our defense minister Vigen Sargsyan decided to become a member of the [ruling] party,” added the NA vice speaker. “He is a virtuous, noble, patriotic, and professional politician."
