Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said the murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov is a provocation and assured that the terrorists will feel the strengthened fight against them, reports TASS.

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 20, ARTSAKHPRESS: Putin also instructed to strengthen the control of the Russian diplomatic representations in abroad. 

Putin extended condolences to the killed Ambassador’s family members and relatives.

"A crime has been committed and it was undoubtedly a provocation aimed to undermine the revitalization of the Russian and Turkish relations as well as to disrupt the Syrian conflict peaceful settlement process promoted by Russia, Turkey, Iran and other countries, which are interested in the resolution of the Syria situation”, Putin saying as quoted by TASS.

“The response to this [crime] can be only one and it will be the strengthened fight against terrorism. The terrorists will have to suffer through all of it”, Putin said.

The Russian President said the Russian Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case over the murder, it has been instructed to form a working group that must depart for Ankara to take part in the investigation of this crime. Putin said this agreement has been reached during a phone conversation with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“We must know how steered the killer’s course”, Putin said.
