The first solar power plant to be built in Artsakh
STEPANAKERT, MARCH 14, ARTSAKHPRESS: The Artsakh State Commission on regulating public services and economic competition was recommended to set a maximum capacity of 30 MW for small hydropower plants .
Speaking about the opportunities of the energy sector, the Prime Minister Arayik Haroutyunyan stressed the importance of efficient use of hydropower potential, as well as emphasized the importance of solar energy development.
“We don’t have any observation concerning the possibilities of the production of solar power. We must make steps in this direction. It would be effective for us to consult with the relevant agencies and experts of the Republic of Armenia.
Now we must do researches for selecting potential locations suitable for the construction of solar power plants, especially there is already an investor who is ready to build the first solar power plant. In addition, solar panels will be installed in all newly constructed homes for hot water supply. Due to this citizens will cut down expenses and gain experience,” said Arayik Haroutyunyan.
