STEPANAKERT, APRIL 25,  ARTSAKHPRESS: “More than 100 years later, the Turkish state continues to run with impunity, implementing a negationist plan as a state policy. Unlike countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan, Argentina is a pioneer in the world in the field of human rights”, said in the statement of the Armenian community's youth organizations.

“Our message is against this Embassy that represents a genocidal and negationist state that does not change and that continues to sharpen its position as an intolerant and authoritarian state”, Garo Seferian, president of the Armenian Youth Federation of South America, one of the organizers of the rally, said.

Before the rally, a mass was delivered in the Cathedral San Gregorio the Illuminator that was attended by Vice President of Argentina Gabriela Michetti.

“Remembering the Armenian Genocide today helps us to never let this type of atrocities happen again in the history of humanity”, Gabriela Michetti said. “When we speak of genocide we are talking about an attack on humanity”, she said, who then read a poem by William Saroyan. Michetti recalled that Argentina recognized the Genocide in 2007 by Law.

A commemorative event was also held in Montevideo, Uruguay. “That genocide was painful so much so that it continues to hit us today in our feelings”, Deputy Alberto Asseff said.
