STEPANAKERT, MAY 4,  ARTSAKHPRESS: The delegation headed by Rector of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, Head of the Department of Urology and Andrology, Professor Armen Muradyan with Karine Atayan, Minister of Health of the Republic of Artsakh today toured the new oncology center in Stepanakert.


In an interview with “Artsakhpress” Armen Muradyan said that they decided to start their first event in Artsakh.

"About 20 renowned specialists, including an urologist, pulmonologist, allergist, immunologist, cardiologist, neurosurgeon, endocrinologist, ophthalmologist, oncologist, allergist, immunologist, neonatologist, dermatovenerologist and students came to see the leading technology, with which the republican hospital is equipped.

We want to have mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as exchange of experience with Artsakh specialists. We are impressed with everything that is being carried out in Artsakh healthcare system. It can be an example for many countries.


As a specialist, I can say that the work is performed at a high level”, he says, adding that having a cancer center in any country is very necessary, because there are many cases of oncological diseases in the world. “I can assure that Stepanakert cancer center can provide full medical services to patients,” he noted.
Armen Muradyan said that in parallel with the development of applied medicine and having a modern center, scientific component should be at a high level, in order to make the applied sector more contemporary.
"We have an agreement with the Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh to organize "Medical University in Artsakh” one-year program, which will include scientific, educational and practical work.
According to the program, the specialists of the Medical University every month will visit Artsakh and train local specialists.
Holter is a portable device for continuously monitoring various electrical activity of the cardiovascular system for at least 24 hours (often for two weeks at a time).
We have brought 10 such devices to Artsakh.
Ophthalmologists will provide patients with glasses they have brought. "According to him, on May 5 a conference on "Innovations and Advances in Medical Science" will be held in the Republican Medical Center of Stepanakert, where specialists from Armenia will share their experience with Artsakh doctors.
