Excavations and clearing works have been launched for the first time in Meghretsots Church in Shushi, Artsakh.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 12, ARTSAKHPRESS: In an interview with “Artsakhpress”, deputy scientific director of the state service of historic environment preservation, Nzhdeh Yeranyan said that the purpose is to open the outline of the church.
“The church had been mostly brought down and concreted. Our main expectation is to research the foundation of the church”, he said.
He noted the fact that the eastern wall and the altar are preserved.
