Russia as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country does everything to find a compromise over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement issue, Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, told reporters during briefing.

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 15, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: “Both Armenia and Azerbaijan have their own views on the conflict settlement. There is a concrete formula for the conflict settlement which supposes search for compromise. It supposes closer of stances of the sides no matter how they can often diametrically oppose each other. This is a practice of international, diplomatic work - to find solutions for unsettled issues”, Zakharova said.
She agreed that the situation should be solved. For that purpose, the contacts have been more intensified in recent period which are being held at various formats. “Russia, as a participant to the format, does everything to find a compromise. Of course, it would be better to find it as soon as possible, however, but not in detriment of peoples of the two countries, as well as of the future of people living in Nagorno Karabakh”, she said.
She informed that the Minsk Group Co-Chairs will issue statement based on the results of their recent regional visit, by assessing the current stage of conflict settlement process.
Asked whether meeting is possible between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in near future, Zakharova said at the moment there is no such information on that. “We will inform in case of holding possible meetings."
