International Sambo Tournament launched in Stepanakert (Photos)

At the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh and Artsakh and Armenia Sambo federations, International Sambo Tournament, dedicated to Nelson Stepanyan, the twice hero of the Soviet Union, launched in Stepanakert on June 24.

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 24, ARTSAKHPRESS: Ashot Danielyan, the Head of the Department of Sport of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport noted that the tournament is being held in Artsakh for the first time.

"Organizing tournament in Stepanakert, we try to make Artsakh more recognizable. 90 athletes from Artsakh, Armenia, Russian Federation and Abkhazia participate in this tournament." he said.

He also noted that the winners of the tournament will be awarded with cups, medals, diplomas and monetary reward.
