On August 30, by the means of the Tufenkian Foundation, the family of Gagik Petrosyan who was wounded in 2016 while defending the state border celebrated a housewarming party in Stepanakert.

Eighth Wounded Soldier Receives Home in Artsakh from the Tufenkian Foundation

STEPANAKERT, AUGUST 31, ARTSAKHPRESS: As "Artsakhpress" reports, Tufenkian Foundation Executive Director Raffi Doudaklian, Director of the Artsakh office Edik Grigoryan and the supporters of the Foundation were present at the event.

Director of Artsakh office Edik Grigoryan noted that Gagik Petrosyan was wounded last fall. The construction of the house had begun 7 years ago.  And the construction works of the Tufenkian Foundation started on July 9 of the current year. Gagik's wife Nune also serves in the Artsakh Republic Defense Army. They have two daughters.

Executive Director of the Fund Raffi Dudaklyan stated that the Tufenkian Foundation Housing for Wounded Soldiers initiative  has been operating since April 2016, and added that he is the eighth wounded soldier who received house. The project will be continued in the village of Patara, Askeran region."This is the minimum that we can do for our soldiers.

If they endanger their lives for keeping our homeland, providing them with a home is our moral duty, "said Raffi Doudaklian.

The member of the Board of Trustees of Tufenkian Foundation Andranik Gasparyan noted that their main activities are there where is a liberated population: construction of apartments,  creation of small business opportunities, opening of workplaces.

However, a new program was launched after April. Due to it the renovation of homes for wounded soldiers began.

And Belgian-Armenian Andrey Gumushchian, the supporter of the Tufenkian Foundation, congratulated housewarming, said that he is very happy for the children who will grow up in the renovated apartment.

It should be noted that the Foundation's supporters gave stationery to the family members for the new academic year.
