The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Republic of Artsakh increased by 16.5 percent and totaled 174.3 billion drams in January-September of 2017, as compared to the same period of the last year, informed Artsakh National Statistical Service.
Artsakh GDP grows 16.5 % in January-September of 2017
STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 22, ARTSAKHPRESS:GDP index deflator totaled 102.4 percent, as compared with 100.5 percent of 2016.
During the indicated period the GDP per capita in Artsakh was Armenian drams equivalent to about US$2,467.7, or €2,216.2.
Growth in GDP is mainly due to the following sectors: industry, agriculture, construction.
In January-September industrial production worth 65 billion drams was released.
The structure of Artsakh’s industrial production according to sectors is as follows: processing industry — 21.6%; mining industry and exploitation of open pits — 51.2%; supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning — 26.2%; water supply, sewerage, waste management and processing — 1%.
Gross output of the agricultural sector was 55.7 billion drams in January-September of 2017, this is up by 9.9% as compared to the same period of the last year.
During the same period work worth 33.2 billion drams was carried out in construction sector, this is up by 25.7 % as compared to the same period of the last year.
In January-September of 2017 the economic activity index of Artsakh was 18.4 percent in comparison with the corresponding period of 2016.
