STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 23, ARTSAKHPRESS:According to the National Olympic Committee, the Armenian chess star played a draw with Peter Svidler of Russia with white pieces at the six round of the tournament held on Wednesday, Panorama.am reported.

Aronian is currently leading the table with four points, being closely trailed by eight chess players.

The Armenian grandmaster is scheduled to face Richard Rapport of Hungary in the seventh round.

The FIDE Grand Prix 2017 is a series of four chess tournaments that form part of the qualification cycle for the World Chess Championship 2018. The top two finishers will qualify for the 2018 Candidates Tournament.
