STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 12, ARTSAKHPRESS:“Over these two months I have documented soldier fatalities on the [Artsakh-Azerbaijan] Line of Contact. If I am not mistaken around 57 soldiers have been killed since early 2017 up to now. This means we are not dealing with a frozen conflict, but rather a real conflict, which has a heavy impact upon the Armenian society, the Armenian state and which concerns us,” he said at a news conference in Yerevan.

The ambassador underlined the three principles – non-use of force or threat of force, territorial integrity and people’s right to self-determination – as key points of the conflict settlement process.

He stated the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot have a military solution, giving his string assurances France is consistent to fully implement its commitments undertaken within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“This is the kind of conflict France closely follows on the top leadership level,” Jonathan Lacôte highlighted, meantime adding the issue of finding a negotiated and lasting peace rests with the parties to the conflict.
