On Friday, upon the initiative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Nagorno-Karabakh office, opening ceremony of a park and memorial to the missing persons as a result of the Artsakh war took place in the Artsakh region of Martakert.

STEPANAKERT, MARCH 16, ARTSAKHPRESS:As Artsakhpress correspondent informs, the Head of the ICRC Mission to Nagorno-Karabakh, Dragoslav Blazevic, and sister of a missing freedom fighter from Martakert, Marieta Edigarova had the honor of opening the memorial and the park.

Memorial consecration ceremony served by spiritual shepherd priest Matevos Dravantsi took place.  Subsequently, those present laid flowers at the memorial.

At the event Head of the ICRC Mission to Artsakh, Dragoslav Blazevic, welcoming the guests mentioned that the park and the memorial have been built with the support of ICRC.

President of the Artsakh Union of Relatives of Missing Freedom Fighters, Vera Grigoryan, expressed gratitude to all those who have assisted in the building works of the memorial and the park.

Relatives of missing freedom fighters also made speeches.

Head of the Martakert regional administration, Edgar Harutyunyan, relatives of missing freedom fighters and people of Martakert were present at the event.
