This year 49 musicians from Artsakh participated in the 10th annual ‘Renaissance’ international competition-festival held in Gyumri. Some 32 captured prizes.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 17, ARTSAKHPRES:Head of the department of cultural heritage and folk crafts of the Artsakh Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, Apres Margaryan, told ArtsakhPress about the aforementioned.

He informed that eight musicians captured first places, fifteen — second places, six — third places and one captured the fourth place. Students of Shushi’s Specialized Music School, Arevik Poghosyan and Marat Musayelyan (teacher Nelly Sargsyan) performed a piano duet and were awarded with Grand Prix.

Apres Margaryan stressed that year by year both the number of Artsakh participants and the number of those who capture prizes in the ‘Renaissance’ international competition-festival increase.

During the year winners of the competition-festival will give concerts both in Artsakh and in Armenia.

To note, on April 5 solemn opening ceremony of the 10th ‘Renaissance’ international competition-festival was held at the Vardan Achemyan State Drama Theater in Gyumri. This year the competition-festival was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first Armenian Republic, the 30th tragic anniversary of the Spitak earthquake as well as the 20th anniversary of foundation of the Gyumri branch of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.
