Number of tourists visiting Artsakh’s Vank village increases, head of the community (photos)

In 2016 Martakert region’s Vank village had some 750 tourists. In 2017 this number increased to 2500, head of the community, Andrey Sargsyan told ArtsakhPress.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 19, ARTSAKHPRESS:He said the majority of tourists are from Armenia, Russia, US, France, India, Germany and other countries.

Andrey Sargsyan informed that the village attracts tourists by the Gandzasar monastic complex, ‘Matenadaran-Gandzasar’ scientific-cultural center and other attractions.

Head of the community further said that due to the financing of Levon Hayrapetyan — a great philanthropist from the village, ‘Eclectica’ or ‘Titanic’ and ‘Tsovin Kar’ hotel complexes,  ‘Van Gogh’ restaurant, a few cafes and a zoo have been built in the village. All these contribute to the development of village’s tourism.

The official next said that by financing of Levon Hayrapetyan a school was built in the village in 2007. Currently 245 pupils attend the school.

In 2010 the same philanthropist financed the construction of a kindergarten, which now has 80 children.
