Director of Yerevan’s Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran speaks about attractions of center's branch in Artsakh

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 25, ARTSAKHPRESS:Director of the Yerevan’s Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran, Vahan Ter-Ghevondyan, told ArtsakhPress about the aforementioned.

He noted that a large number of visitors are tourists from abroad, schoolchildren and residents from different settlements of Artsakh. Within the frames of cooperation with Artsakh Defense Ministry, servicemen also regularly visit the scientific-cultural center.

According to the director, “Matenadaran-Gandzasar” scientific-cultural center has provided a large number of visitors, however there are still things to do to enlarge the scientific-cultural direction, to replenish the library and to add technical equipment.

The director said that the center attracts tourists with the presented Armenian manuscripts and the exclusiveness of those manuscripts, antique books, which have been published in Artsakh.

Vahan Ter-Ghevondyan said that “Matenadaran-Gandzasar” scientific-cultural center will be included in the Artsakh’s tourism route in the near future for the development of tourism.

Speaking about events to be organized in the center in near future, Vahan Ter-Ghevondyan said besides permanent exhibitions various temporary exhibitions are organized, including presentation of the history of Armenian manuscripts, and demonstration of films about Armenian churches. These all will pursue educational objectives.
