STEPANAKERT, APRIL 26, ARTSAKHPRESS:As ArtsakhPress correspondent informs, the courses have been organized with the support of Artsakh Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism and as a result of cooperation between the State Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and International Council of Museums (ICOM).

At the training course, Artsakh Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, Sergey Shahverdyan attached importance to such meetings. He said that specialists of Artsakh museums can acquire wonderful experience as a result of courses.

“Last year Artsakh State Service for the Protection of Historical Environment became associated member of ICOM. I am sure that the number of the organization’s Artsakh members will increase as a result of these courses. We should think of becoming a member of Association of Armenian Museums. It is very important that the workers of Armenian and Artsakh museums should act cooperatively. It will give us great opportunities in terms of exchange of experience and effective work.’’ Sergey Shahverdyan added.

President of Armenia’s ICOM, Ani Avagyan, said that the international day of museums has been celebrated since 1946 at the organization’s initiative.

“Every year we offer the museums a topical theme in order for them to organize their activity around it. This year we have chosen the theme “Ultra-communicable museums, new approaches and new society”. Everything is connected with new technologies.’’  Ani Avagyan said.

Member of Armenia’s ICOM council, director of Association of Museum Workers and Friends, Hayk Mkrtchyan, mentioned that they will try to understand existing problems and contribute to socialization of Artsakh.

To note, the courses will continue the next day. During these courses participants will visit museums of Shushi and Tigranakert State Historical and Cultural Reserve.
