The Artsakh Defense Army soldiers fulfil their military duties with honor and are ready to counteract any move from Azerbaijan that pose a threat to the country’s security, Tigran Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Artsakh president, said on Friday, commenting on the recent mobilization of Azerbaijani forces on the contact line.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 27, ARTSAKHPRESS:In an interview with Panorama.am, Abrahamyan noted that the accumulation and movement of Azerbaijani manpower and military equipment continues on the Artsakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact.
“The Defense Army is following them and will take effective steps if necessary,” he said.
Asked whether there has been any infiltration attempts of subversive or intelligence groups of Azerbaijan in parallel to the accumulation of forces, he said: “Due to the technical upgrades implemented on the frontline in recent years the risks of the adversary’s sabotage infiltration attempts have drastically diminished.”
The Artsakh official added the Azerbaijani military escalates frontline situation with its sniper groups, heavy machine guns, as well as drastic movements on the contact line.
He expressed conviction the frontline situation and especially the adversary’s actions cannot remain untouched by Armenia’s domestic political developments.
“However, I must stress that the Defense Army and its servicemen are extremely aware of their mission and fulfil their military tasks with honor. Our soldiers stand firm [at the frontline], are well aware of the developments around Artsakh and are ready to restrict and counteract any Azerbaijani step that can pose a threat to our security,” he noted.
