Armenian Parliament ratifies 100 mln USD loan agreement on arms purchase from Russia

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 6, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS:92 MPs unanimously voted in favor of ratifying the agreement.

According to the agreement Russia will provide up to 100 million USD state export loan to the Armenian government for financing the Russian military equipment supplies.

The list of weapons can change by the mutual agreement of the Armenian defense ministry and the Russian federal service of the military-technical cooperation since the loan will be implemented in 5 years, and during this period new arms can be produced and there can be an agreement on acquiring new weapons within the frames of the loan. The loan is provided to Armenia for a five-year term at 3% interest rate. Armenia will purchase modern arms from Russia at domestic prices.
