Turkish journalist, calling for Armenian Genocide recognition, fined for insulting Erdogan

STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 12, ARTSAKHPRESS:According to the website of the Turkish newspaper Diken, Altan, who was arrested on charges of assisting the Gülen movement and the failed coup attempt in Turkey, took part in the hearing via Internet connection. He stressed that he did not insult, but criticized.

Nevertheless, the court found the journalist guilty and obliged to pay compensation in the amount of 7,000 Turkish Liras.

To note, Ahmet Altan has called for the recognition of Armenian Genocide.
