Rhetoric adds nothing to resoluteness – Mnatsakanyan to Aliyev

Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Tuesday voiced criticism of the Azerbaijani president’s recent statement insisting on his country’s "essentially strong positions" in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) peace talks to allow “any occupation of our regions”.

Rhetoric adds nothing to resoluteness – Mnatsakanyan to Aliyev

STEPANAKERT,  JANUARY 29, ARTSAKHPRESS: At the news conference held jointly with Johannes Hahn, the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, he described the Ilham Aliyev’s rhetoric as "too weak an instrument" to add any element to resolute policies, Tert.am report.

“I regret for the kind of statement, but our position is more than clear and known,” he said, adding that Armenia possesses the necessary capacities to defend its country and Artsakh.

“We know of our capacities but want to resolve this conflict in a peaceful manner,” Mnatsakanyan said.

“We can react and use rhetoric as well, but such a rhetoric adds absolutely nothing to resoluteness. We have enough power – for both defense and offense – yet that implies also certain aftermaths,” he added.
