At the joint initiative of the Artsakh Republic Defense Ministry and the Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of Artsakh, a memorial meeting dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Armenian military and political figure, National Hero of Armenia and Hero of Artsakh Vazgen Sargsyan took place in the Stepanakert Culture and Youth Palace on March 5.

STEPANAKERT, MARCH 5, ARTSAKHPRESS: “Artsakhpress” reports, Artsakh's Minister of Defense Karen Abrahamyan made an opening speech.
He said that talking about great individuals is very difficult, and their deeds are usually so significant that the views of contemporaries often can not include them. Only after a certain period it is possible to fully understand the historical role of the great individual.
Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, said he has been fortunate enough to know Vazgen Sargsyan since 1988. "Vazgen was physically strong and cheerful. He devoted himself to the nation, the homeland, the army, the statehood and his friends all his life,”Pargev Martirosyan noted.
Chairman of the Artsakh Union of Writers Vardan Hakobyan speaking about Sargsyan's literary activities, said that Sargsyan's stories have not lost their modernity.
"Every word written by Sparapet is unique. V. Sargsyan's philosophical thoughts give depth and mystery to every single word. His stories are honest, straightforward, kind and clear as he was himself.
Sparapet's brother Aram Sargsyan thanked the people of Artsakh for the event. "I would like Vazgen with our mother to be present at this hall. The most important guarantee of Vazgen's activity is liberated, independent and protected Artsakh. He dedicated his life to Artsakh. "The 21st century will be ours," this was my brother's faith, "said Aram Sargsyan.
Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan, the second President of the Republic of Artsakh Arkady Ghukasyan, the third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, state officials, servicemen, friends and relatives of Sparapet were in attendance of the event.
