STEPANAKERT, MARCH 6, ARTSAKHPRESS: Armenian Health Minister Arsen Torosyan told "Artsakhpress" , noting that during his visit he had meetings with Artsakh Republic State Minister Grigory Martirosyan, Minister of Healthcare Arayik Baghryan, Defense Minister Karen Abrahamyan, Vice Chairman of the Artsakh Republic National Assembly Vahram Balayan and MPs.
“We have visited Martuni medical center and military hospital, Mekhakavan and Hadrut military hospitals, today we will visit the Martakert medical center and military hospital. I have been at Hadrut Medical Center for the second time and getting acquainted with the renovation works of the obstetrical department, I can say that there is a positive progress. I think all other health care facilities will also be repaired and restored.
During the past 10 months, it is the third visit of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia to Artsakh, We should visit Artsakh more frequently. During the next visits we will also visit rural health centres.
Touching upon the issue of the replenishment of hospitals with doctors, Torosyan said that the issue was discussed with his Artsakh counterpart. In terms of time it is a difficult problem.
At present, our main goal is to have strong preventive medicine in the health care system, comprehensive coverage, a new funding mechanism, which will likely be in the form of insurance and, as a separate direction, a low level of cancer prevalence and a wide range of treatment options for patients,” added Torosyan.
