STEPANAKERT, APRIL 7, ARTSAKHPRESS:The idea of having a cathedral in the capital of Artsakh belongs to the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archibshop Pargev Martirosyan.
In an interview with ArtsakhPress Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan congratulated the Armenian people on the opening of the Cathedral.
He attached importance to the sacred mission of church building and mentioned that the Armenian people lived for centuries and still continue to live believing in God.
"I promised to build a cathedral in Stepanakert and my wish has come true after more than 12 years, but we still have a lot of work; we must completely renovate the territories.''
Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan, Parliament Speaker Ashot Ghulyan, Director of the National Security Council of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, former President of Artsakh Arkady Ghukasyan and other guests were present at the event. Hrant Vardanyan's sons - Michael and Karen Vardanyans who funded the construction of the church, also participated in the ceremony.
