Facebook has added a feature to remind friends to send birthday greetings, or invite a deceased loved one to an event, NPR reported.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 10, ARTSAKHPRESS: “Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg on Monday announced that the social network will use artificial intelligence to determine when someone has died, and stop sending those kinds of notifications.
Sandberg didn't explain exactly how the new artificial intelligence features will work, but a Facebook spokesperson told NPR the company will look at a variety of signals that might indicate the person is deceased.
The spokesperson wouldn't provide details on what those signals may be,” the source noted.
