The international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is an ongoing process which involves all the necessary steps to prevent its recurrence in the future, a former foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) said today at the Genocide commemoration event in Yerevan.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 24, ARTSAKHPRESS: “That’s a process whose importance is not limited only to us as it has a global significance. The recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide helps also avoid the recurrence of the tragedy,” Karen Mirzoyan told reporters, Tert.am reports.
Asked to comment upon the recently voiced repeated criticism that the authorities fail to properly raise the issue on the international arena, Mirzoyan said he thinks that only competent bodies and individuals should address the topic to consider the outcome. “I my current status – without being in the know – I don’t think it would be correct to voice any evaluation,” he added.
