Pope Francis will receive Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 4 in the Vatican during the visit of the head of the Russian state to Italy, AFP reported.

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 6, ARTSAKHPRESS: "The Holy Father will receive the president of the Russian Federation... this upcoming July 4," interim spokesman Alessandro Gisotti said in a statement.
Earlier, the Kremlin confirmed the president’s plans to visit Italy, but the dates of the visit and Putin’s plans to visit the Vatican were not reported.
