Spokesperson of Armenia’s Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan sees no immediate threat of a renewed war over Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in the foreseeable future.
Armenian Defense Ministry spox sees no immediate threat of war over Artsakh
STEPANAKERT, JUNE 13, ARTSAKHPRESS: His comments came after the Artsakh Defense Ministry reported a growth in training flights of Azerbaijani drones and military aviation along the entire contact line, which, the ministry said, often violate the flight zone, Panorama.am reports.
Also, Azerbaijan employed various types of long-range sniper rifles and AGS-17 grenade launchers (5 shells) at different sections of the contact line on 11 June and at night of 12 June, the ministry said in a statement.
“Nothing can be ruled out, but I see no grounds for the predictions of war renewal in the near future,” he told a briefing on Thursday.
Asked to comment on the process of Armenia’s weapons purchase, Hovhannisyan said it is quite a complex state function. “The process of arms purchases and supplies proceeds normally. Naturally, we want to proceed with it and expand it. We are working on it,” he said.
