Eleven Armenians were among the 234 passengers on board of the Russian passenger plane that made an emergency landing in a corn field near the capital Moscow shortly after take-off on Thursday after birds were sucked into both its engines.

STEPANAKERT, AUGUST 15,  ARTSAKHPRESSThe Ural Airlines’ Airbus 321 struck a flock of gulls after take-off, disrupting its engines and forcing the pilots to land in the field about one km from Zhukovsky International Airport, south-east of Moscow, Reuters reported, citing the agency Rosaviatsia.

The Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid identified the Armenian passengers as Stepan Hakobyan, Artur Arstamyan, Erik Arstamyan, Karina Avetisyan, Liana Davidyan, Galina Muradyan, Artur Kagramanov, Gregory Kagramanov, Agnes Kagramanov, Diana Kagramanov and Milana Kagramanov, Panorama.am reports.

23 passengers were injured in the wake of the incident, but, remarkably, no one was killed.
