"Free Motherland” Party carried out election observation mission in Germany

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 2,  ARTSAKHPRESSThe members of the Artsakh delegation started the working agenda visiting a number of election centers accompanied by Bundestag MP Stefan Keuter.

Afterwards, Andreas Kalbitz , the head of the “Alternative for Germany” party received  Gagik Petrosyan and Vahram Poghosyan at the Landtag (parliament)  of Brandenburg. The latter thanked for admitting the invitation and visiting the Federal Republic of  Germany, noting that such mutual visits would greatly contribute to the strengthening of mutual ties.

The members of the Artsakh delegation, highlighting the importance of forming a joint working agenda and the expansion of actions in specific directions, emphasized that the electoral processes require continuous development and in this sense the German experience can be a good example.

Within the framework of the working visit, the members of the delegation of the “Free Homeland” Party in AfD center in Potsdam, the capital city of Brandenburg had a private conversation with Alexander Gauland, the co-founder of AfD party (Alternative for Germany) and the co-chair of the AfD  fraction in Bundestag.

Welcoming the mission of the Artsakh delegation, one of the most experienced figures of the German political field, Gauland assured that regardless of the political status of Artsakh, he sees a great potential for cooperation between the two political forces.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Gagik Petrosyan and Vahram Poghosyan conveyed the greetings of Arayik Harutyunyan, the leader of the Free Homeland Party, and then followed the election results with the party activists.

By the way, in the elections held in Brandenburg and Saxony on September 1, the Alternative for Germany party received unprecedentedly high results, becoming the second political force in both parliaments.

Note, unlike the ruling German political forces, which received less votes than in the previous elections, the AfD received 24.5 and 27.5 per cent of the votes respectively in two lands . And in the previous elections held in 2014, those figures were only 12.2 and 9.7 percent, respectively.
It should be noted that “Free Motherland” and “Alternative for Germany” parties have established relations since 2015. During this time a number of mutual visits and observation missions were carried out. The AfD is a holder of traditional values and is considered the fastest-growing political force in Germany, which, in addition to the regional parliaments, is also presented in the Bundestag and the European Parliament.
