The festive events marking the 28th anniversary of the Artsakh Republic proclamation began early in the morning with Defense Army soldiers’ solemn march through the main streets of Stepanakert.

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 2,  ARTSAKHPRESSArtsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan  accompanied by the top officials of Artsakh and Armenia walked from the Renaissance Square of the capital to the Memorial and laid flowers on the graves of freedom fighters perished for the independence and freedom of Artsakh and on the memorial of Arthur Mkrtchyan, first chairman of the NKR Supreme Council. 

Afterwards the Army honor guard ceremony was held.

Second President of the Artsakh Republic Arkady Ghoukasyan, chairman of the Republic of Armenia National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, Artsakh Republic National Assembly chairman Ashot Ghoulyan, state minister Grigory Martirosyan, high-ranking officials from Armenia and Artsakh, representatives of the Diaspora and foreign guests took part at the events.

In the framework of celebration festive events are to be held in all regions of Artsakh. A concert will be held at the Stepanakert Revival Square. The celebrations will end with a firework display.
