STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 26, ARTSAKHPRESS: Artak Grigoryan, Head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Artsakh , told Artsakhpress that 19,568 of the foreign tourists visiting Artsakh were from CIS countries, 20 thousand 52 9 visitors were from other countries (USA, Italy, France), exceeding the same index of the previous year (27 thousand 89) by 48%.

The number of hotel facilities has increased by 28. Now 91 facilities operate in Artsakh.
During the past 10 years the number of hotel facilities has increased 5.3 times. There are 10 tour operators and 1 travel agent in Artsakh,” said Grigoryan.

 Grigoryan informed that in January-October, the Tigranakert State Historical-Cultural Reserve had 14 thousand 559 visitors, which is lower than the index of 2018 (16 thousand 690) by 13%. From January to October, 1056 tourists applied to the tourist information centers of Stepanakert and Shushi (783 and 273 respectively).

The main reasons for visiting Artsakh are the picturesque nature (31.1%), historical-cultural values (29.6%), professional visits (9.1%), and other reasons (22.7%),” concluded Grigoryan.
