STEPANAKERT, MARCH 17, ARTSAKHPRESS: The exhibits being displayed at the event are provided by the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan.

Armenian National Assembly (NA) Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov—who also heads the NA Armenia-Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia Parliamentary Friendship Group—, and the Ambassador of Armenia to the Baltic states, Ara Ayvazian, were among those who delivered opening remarks at the event.

In his remarks, the Armenian parliament deputy chairman noted that this exhibition is not directed against any country, and it is held for the sake of restoring historical justice and international recognition and condemnation of genocides.

Sharmazanov added that the Armenian Genocide is the first genocide of the 20th century, and 1.5 million people were killed just for being Armenian. In his words, this is a classic example of racism and xenophobia.

He also recorded that this exhibition presents the respective European press reaction, which is evidence to the occurrence of this tragedy.

In addition, the NA vice speaker noted that the civilized world should condemn this crime against humanity, and not allow, in the name of justice, the perpetrators to go unpunished and the descendants of the genocide victims, without reparations.
