STEPANAKERT, JULY 20, ARTSAKHPRESS: Artsakhpress learned that the number of the Museum visitors is falling as compared to the previous years.

“The number of the visitors increased this year from April-May, which was connected with the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide," said Haroutunyan.

The number of the visitors from January to June was 1,132, with 335 of them coming from abroad.

The total number of the visitors in 2014 was 6265, with 925 from abroad.

The reason for the falling number of visitors is explained by the visitors’ lack of awareness about the current situation in Artsakh.

The manager explained that the visitors aren’t aware of the Artsakh’s history. They think that the situation in Artsakh is still intense; while visiting Artsakh they see and experience a much calmer setting.

The Shoushi State Museum of Fine Arts was established in 2013, on May 9 by the initiation of Gregory Gabrielyants. The Museum has about 600 works of art.
