Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh ranked ‘Partly Free’ in Freedom House report

STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 27, ARTSAKHPRESS: The report, entitled Freedom in the World 2016, evaluates the state of freedom in 195 countries and 15 territories during the year 2015.

Azerbaijan is among the Not Free countries, with an aggregate score of 16 (out of 16).

The report highlights the overlapping crises “that fueled xenophobic sentiment in democratic countries, undermined the economies of states dependent on the sale of natural resources, and led authoritarian regimes to crack down harder on dissent.”

The worst situation was observed in Somalia, West Sahara, as well as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and North Korea.
