The conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh can be resolved only through peaceful efforts, the Russian ambassador to Armenia said today, reaffirming his support to the existing negotiation format.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 9, ARTSAKHPRESS: My opinion is that the conflict should be resolved only in a peaceful way. No weapons can ever resolve this conflict. This is a conflict to be settled only around a negotiating table,” as Tert.am reports Ivan Volynkin told reporters in Yerevan’s Victory Park.
Asked to comment on the Russian-Azerbaijani weapons sale, the ambassador replied, “Show me documents, any specific data, that Russia sells weapons to Azerbaijan.”
When reminded of Russian high-ranking officials’ repeated statements admitting the fact, Volynkin said, “Russia sells weapons also to Armenia."
