Heads of EAEU member states affirmed key macroeconomic policy directions of the Union for 2016-2017, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan told.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 31, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: “During the session the Presidents of member states of the Union affirmed key macroeconomic policy directions for 2016-2017. It is an anti-crisis document which outlines the main short and medium term problems that face the economies of our countries”, Sargsyan said, clarifying that the member states will conduct periodic monitoring which will give an opportunity to find most vulnerable sectors, as well as decide the joint polices.
In the words of the EEC Chairman, the works in the sidelines of the macroeconomic policy aim at implementing three main goals regarding level of inflation, budget deficit and external debt.
“The monitoring carried out by the Commission helps to uncover the significant deviations from indicators set by the Union treaty”, Tigran Sargsyan said, adding that this will foster coordinated policy by the member states aimed at minimizing the deviations of indicators from those set by the treaty”, TASS reports Sargsyan saying.
