By initiating the St Petersburg meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, Russia did not attempt to reshape format of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks, Ambassador Ivan Volynkin has said, ruling out any plan to revise the OSCE Minsk Group process, informs Tert.am.

STEPANAKERT, JULY 8, ARTSAKHPRESS: “Russia’s activities are within the Minsk Group, so no other formats are envisaged,” the diplomat told our correspondent, noting that meetings of the kind had been earlier arranged also by France and the United States (the other co-chairing countries of the mission).
The Russian ambassador said he finds initiatives of the kind an effective way towards confidence-building. “I am hopeful the conflict will be resolved,” he said.
