The National Security Service of Armenia continues to take measures for restoring the negotiations process which was unilaterally suspended by the gunmen on July 23 who siezed the Police HQ on July 17.
Armenian National Security Service reveals another group providing criminal assistance to gunmen
STEPANAKERT, JULY 25, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: In particular, it was offered to take one of the wounded members of the gunmen to hospital to ensure adequate and proper medical treatment for his health, however, the gunmen rejected this proposal.
In the July 25 statement the NSS of Armenia informed that new arrests have been carried out over seized Police HQ by the gunmen, and another group, supporting the gunmen, has been revealed.
The National Security Service warns that other persons having an intent to join the gunmen are also individualized and currently are under the attention of the competent state bodies. All legitimate and available measures are being taken to suspend or suppress their possible criminal actions.
The NSS of Armenia is confident there is still a way for the peaceful resolution of the situation and calls all the gunmen to immediately stop their criminal activity, including also the violence against the human life, health and the property, to voluntarily lay down the weapons and surrender to the authorities without a resistance. There is still time for it.
“We recall that the type of criminal penalty and the degree of severity for the committed crime will be determined by the nature of each of the gunmen’s actions and the consequences caused by it. In case of the presence of the conditions stipulated by the Armenian law, those persons, who voluntarily refused from the crime, may be exempted from the criminal liability.
In this regard, on July 25, written explanations were given to the gunmen, as well as they were explained the sequence of the actions and the steps of surrendering which they ought to do”, the NSS’s statement reads.
