UN Secretary-General António Guterres is concerned over the escalation of the situation in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone and urges to maintain the ceasefire regime and immediately resume the negotiations, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General told reporters on February 27.
UN chief urges to immediately resume negotiations on NK conflict settlement
STEPANAKERT, FEBRUARY 28, ARTSAKHPRESS: “We are concerned over the reports on new clashes along the length of the line of contact in Nagorno Karabakh”, he said, stating that the UN Secretary-General supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs directed towards “reducing the dangerous level of the tension and preventing the further escalation of the situation”.
Stéphane Dujarric said the UN chief “calls on the sides to refrain from any actions that can damage the ceasefire agreement and immediately resume the substantive negotiations aimed at the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict."
