STEPANAKERT, MARCH 9, ARTSAKHPRESS: In an interview with “Artsakhpress” the representative of the SPFA office in Stepanakert Lilit Minasyan said that the organization carries out humanitarian activities in Armenia and Artsakh, by implementing various charity projects.

"Since 2004 the SPFA organization has implemented a number of projects in Khachen village, Askeran region. In particular, in 2006 the program of 24-hour water supply launched in the village. All the old pipes have been replaced. Water meters have been installed. The project has been implemented in ten villages, including Khnapat, Khndzristan, Khramort, Tsakhkashat communities. All this was carried out by French-Armenian Jacques Matosyan who coordinates  the organization’s programs,  “Sedrik Marten” fund and a number of other benefactors,” said Lilit Minasyan.

In Martuni and in the villages Harav and Khnapat, Askeran region the SPFA organization has constructed kindergartens. She also noted that the organization has an important role in the development and promotion of the French language in Artsakh.

As a part of these programs the French club operates in Stepanakert, where everyone can participate in free classes, tour with French tourists in Artsakh and Armenia, regularly meet French guests, watch movies, participate in debates and so on," Minasyan said. She added that the organization has a children's library, a large number of books, French fairy tales in it. Volunteers translate these books and read them for children.

Every year on March 19, various events are also organized within the framework of Francophonie Days. Lilit Minasyan noted that the SPFA organization also carries out “Sheep Donation” program, aiming to improve social situation of rural poor families in Artsakh and develop breeding in the republic. Families with different statuses made use of the support. Each family received 4 sheep.  For boosting cattle breeding,  during 20 months the recipients have no right to sell or slaughter them. 17 families from Khramort, Askeran region benefited from the program.

The distribution of clothes to poor families in also a part of the charity programs.

Talking about future plans, she said that most of these programs will continue, including the new communities and families.
