STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 6, ARTSAKHPRESS: The head of the organization Taron Hakobyan said the aforementioned in an interview with Artsakhpress adding that those families live in bordering villages and are newly formed, — They are socially vulnerable or have many children.

“According to the program a family gets a cow or a heifer on condition that in 3 years term the beneficiary returns a pregnant cow or a similar animal, which will be handed over to another family.

The organization also provided assistance in form of medicine and free veterinary services. In order to raise the quality of animal species artificial insemination were done in a number of communities. One of the goals of the organization is the investment of new animal culture in Artsakh. We have organized courses on current veterinary issues”, said Taron Hakobyan adding that the program has been operating since 2006.

Speaking about the goals of the program Taron Hakobyan noted that it aims at creating new jobs in the community and providing additional sources for the residents.

“We have launched one of the first programs with the head of the “Heifer” international organization Anahit Ghazanchyan, in which 58 families from 4 villages in Martakert region were included. Subsequent phases included Berdashen, Ashan, Norshen, Haci, Avdur, Myurishen and Kagharc communities in Martuni region; Vardadzor, Chankatagh, Kichan, Shahmasur communities in Martakert region; and Sarnakhbyur, Ughtasar communities in Askeran region. During this period we have collaborated with Armenian “Development Principles” NGO, “Armenia” All-Armenian Fund and international, American The Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) and French “Elevages sans Frontieres” (ESF)) organizations”, said the head of the organization and added that for the first time this year the organization has received state financing.

In Taron Hakobyans words, with the subsidy received from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Tourism and with financial assistance of “Revived Motherland” NGO, 5 families in Mataghis community, Martakert region, have been rendered assistance within the framework of the program, and “Development Principles” NGO provided technical support. This is a new precedent, when with state assistance we continue our program. I believe that our cooperation with the state sector will be consistent, since the results are tangilbe.” Taron Hakobyan concluded.
