On Wednesday, at the joint initiative of Artsakh Union of Writers and Grigor Narekatsi University, an event dedicated to the World Poetry Day took place.

World Poetry Day marked in Stepanakert

STEPANAKERT, MARCH 21, ARTSAKHPRESS:As Artsakhpress correspondent informs, head of the Artsakh Union of Writers, Vardan Hakobyan, made an opening speech at the event.

He congratulated those present on the occasion of the holiday.

Professor at Grigor Narekatsi University and writer Arkadi Tovmasyan said that rural world is poetry in itself; and those who spent their childhood in a village enjoyed that pleasure.

In poetess Alisa Baghdasaryan’s conviction, poetry is beautiful manifestation of a person’s love, disappointment, hope, expectations and other feelings.

The poetess also added that through poetry one can penetrate a person’s spiritual world and find there various shades of beauty.

To note, World Poetry Day was declared by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999.
