At the initiative of “Tufenkian” charitable foundation, 2370 persimmon trees were planted in the community of Van in Kashatagh region the other day.

 STEPANAKERT, MARCH 22, ARTSAKHPRESS:“Tufenkian” charitable foundation deputy executive director, Medina Hovhannisyan, told Artsakhpress about the aforesaid. She informed the orchard has been set up with the sponsorship of the foundation’s board of trustees member Victor Zarugyan.

In her words, the main goal of the project is the development of horticulture in Artsakh and creation of jobs in the regions.

“Residents of the [Van] village planted the trees and have been paid for their work. In all the orchards work the residents of the given villages,’’ Medina Hovhannisyan noted, adding that the project will be carried out on a regular basis. She also informed this is the third orchard set up by the “Tufenkian” charitable foundation in Artsakh.

Medina Hovhannisyan said the other two orchards have been set up in Arajamugh village of Hadrut region and in Ericvank community of Kashatagh region. Profit from the sale of crops will be directed to the implementation of further charitable projects.
