Russian will begin supplying weapons to Armenia this year as part of the new $100 million defense loan, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhzhov said on Thursday.

STEPANAKERT, MARCH 29, ARTSAKHPRESS:“They [arms supplies] are scheduled for 2018,” Drozhzhov told reportser at the second International Exhibition of Arms and Defense Technologies "ArmHiTec-2018" hosted by Yerevan, Armenia, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.

In December 2017, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan signed into law the “Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation on granting state export loan to the Government of the Republic of Armenia”. 

Under the deal signed on 24 October 2017, Russia is set to provide a state export loan worth $100 million to Armenia to finance purchase of Russian-made weapons by the country.
