Moscow’s Red Square closes for six days for all visitors ahead of WWII Victory Day parade

The Russian Federal Guard Service (FSO) is closing Moscow’s Red Square for the period of six days starting on Friday for all visitors due to preparations for the upcoming annual military parade on May 9, the press service of the FSO announced to TASS.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 4, ARTSAKHPRESS:"Due to the preparations for solemn events to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 the admission to Red Square will be closed to all visitors starting 9:00 a.m. Moscow time (6:00 GMT) on May 4 and until 8:00 p.m. Moscow time (17:00 GMT) May 9," the FSO press service stated.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said earlier that more than 13,000 troops, 159 weapon systems and 75 aircraft would take part in the military parade on Red Square in Moscow on May 9.
